MUMBAI: Prakash Magdum has taken charge as the Managing Director of the National Film Development Corporation. Magdum is a 1999 batch Indian Information Officer Service officer. Prior to this, he served as Additional Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) in Ahmedabad. He has also served as Director of the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) in Pune in a career spanning two decades. Magdum played a crucial role in preserving Indian film heritage through film archiving and restoration efforts. He has also served as Registrar of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence in Thiruvananthapuram.
