SRINAGAR: A Pakistani national was arrested near the Line of Control in Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army has arrested the Pakistani national from the border at a time when relations between India and Pakistan are tense. Top officials said that the person is being questioned.

A Pakistani national was earlier arrested by the BSF team from Gurdaspur in Punjab while he was trying to illegally cross the border. The new arrest from Poonch, similar to the previous one, has happened within days. The arrested person is 24-year-old Husnain, a Pakistani national from a village in Gujranwala. Punjab Police seized his Pakistani national identity card from him. He had tried to cross the border on Sunday night.

He was also in possession of Pakistani currency worth Rs 40. Punjab Police sources said that the arrested person is mentally ill and was wandering near the international border. Police added that no militant link has been found so far.
