ADIMALI: Four members of a family were found dead after a house caught fire near Marakkanam, Konnathady in Adimali. The deceased have been identified as Marakkanam native Shubha (37), her sons Abhinand (9) and Abhinav (5), and her mother Ponnamma (70). They were the wife, children, and mother-in-law of the late Aneesh, who had died of COVID two years ago.

The fire is believed to have occurred on Friday. Since there were no other houses nearby, the incident remained unnoticed for a long time. It was only yesterday evening that a passerby saw the house completely charred and alerted the authorities. During a search operation led by Vellathooval police, the body of one child was found first. Later that night, the charred remains of the other victims were recovered as well. Initial investigations suggest the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
