SRINAGAR: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu’s Shopian. The encounter started in Kulgam and then shifted to Shopian. Security personnel of the army and paramilitary forces have been fighting the terrorists for quite some time.

This encounter is after India and Pakistan agreed to ceasefire after tensions trigged by Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

In his address to the nation yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Operation Sindoor has carved out a new benchmark in India's fight against terrorism and set up a new normal.

However, just a few hours after the ceasefire declaration, violation was witnessed by Pakistan in Srinagar and other border areas. Meanwhile, the government also declared that any future act of terror on its soil will be treated as an act of war and will be responded to accordingly.
