shopian-encounter

SRINAGAR: Three terrorists, including Shahid Kuttay, the chief of the terrorist outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) — responsible for the Pahalgam massacre of civilians — were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, named 'Operation Keller,' took place in the Keller area of Shopian.

Alongside Shahid, Adnan Shafi Dar and Haris Naseer were also neutralised by the security forces. Both were identified as operatives of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Shahid Kuttay is believed to be the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack. Security agencies have begun a detailed investigation into the matter.

Acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Keller forest area, security forces launched a search operation. During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on the forces, prompting a retaliatory strike in which all three were killed.
