THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of gold in the state has crossed Rs 70,000 again. The rise in gold prices was recorded today after a gap of two days. The price of one sovereign increased by Rs 280 taking to Rs 70,040. The price of one gram increased by Rs 35 to Rs 8755. The price of a sovereign of gold was Rs 69,760 last Friday. There was no change in the rate of the yellow metal on Saturday and Sunday.

The rise in the price of gold in the global market today led to an increase in price in Kerala as well. The highest price recorded this month was Rs 73,040 per sovereign. The lowest price was Rs 68,880. An increase was recorded in the price of silver in the state today. Today, the price of one gram of silver is Rs 109 and the price of one kilogram of silver is Rs 109,000. Yesterday, the price of one gram of silver was Rs 108.
