THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation report has refuted the allegation of Bindu, who was detained on charges of theft, that she was not given water in station. The investigation report of the cantonment assistant commissioner said the CCTV shows Bindu asking water and drinking it. There is also a directive to re-investigate the gold theft from the house where Bindu was working as a domestic help. The investigation is based on Bindu's complaint. The complaint given to the DGP has been handed over to the Cantonment ACP. The city police commissioner said they are examining whether there have been any more lapses.
Meanwhile, ASI Prasanan of Peroorkada station has been suspended. The city police commissioner clarified that there were lapses from the side of Prasanan, in charge of the GD. The cantonment assistant commissioner's report says ASI Prasanan was the one who threatened Bindu the most.
However, Prasanan did not have the authority to question Bindu. Prasanan only had the GD charge at that time. The report says Prasanan threatened to implicate her husband and children in the case. Women should not be kept in custody after 6 pm and before 6 am. The report also said that sub inspector S G Prasad committed a serious violation of law in this regard. Prasad was suspended the other day.
