suitcase

BENGALURU: An 18-year-old girl’s body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase near a railway track in South Bengaluru. The suitcase was found close to the old Chandapura railway bridge near Hosur Main Road. According to preliminary police reports, it is suspected that the body was packed into the suitcase and thrown off a moving train at a different location.

Although such cases typically fall under the jurisdiction of the railway police, Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police C.K. Babu stated that since the incident occurred within their limits, the local police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

The identity of the deceased girl has not yet been confirmed yet. The police are actively working to identify her and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This case bears a disturbing resemblance to a similar incident from May 12 of last year, when the body of a 14-year-old deaf and mute girl was found near a railway track in Ramanagara, Karnataka. At that time, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who visited the victim's family, stated that the police would explore all angles—whether the crime was motivated by revenge, sexual assault, or other reasons—and that it was their duty to ensure justice.
