THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Animal welfare officers took upon the streets to clash and exchange punches in one rare incident in the capital city. The result of the tussle was a broken nose and other injuries. The clash erupted over a staff saying ‘I Love You’ to another colleague.

The incident took place at the Head Office of the Child Welfare Scheme (S.L.B.P.) in Peroorkada on Thursday afternoon. The employee, while attending the farewell party of an office attendant, confessed his love to a colleague.

Another colleague questioned this and a bitter feud ensued. The argument soon morphed into blows and punches. Even the assistant director was forced to leave his lunch table to alleviate tensions between the two. The matter spread like wildfire and the incident was reported to the police. A report was also submitted to the director.
