After a small hiatus, veteran actor Maniyanpilla Raju returned in front of the camera through Mohanlal’s latest blockbuster ‘Thudarum’. It was unlike any role Raju had played in his past. Despite not being a whole through character, the impact was lasting. The film also chronicled Raju's comeback after recovering from cancer.

Now, his latest interview with an online portal where he digs back the anecdotes from the start of his career is gaining attention.

Maniyanpilla Raju:

“I went to a director’s house to request a role in movies. It was during my starting days in the quest for roles in movies. This director was married to a big-time actress in the industry.

I went up to the second floor and the door was ajar. Despite pressing the bell no one attended. This forced me to sneak inside and what I saw was shocking. The director was thrashing the actress's wife by outing her in a hunched-over position. He then saw me and told me there was no role since all the work was over and kindly asked me to leave.”

The actor didn’t mention the name of the prominent director.
