THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The student who topped the national entrance list in the super speciality category chose Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College from all colleges available across India. The student will pursue the DM Pulmonary Medicine course here.

Another student, who secured fifth rank in the examination also had no qualms in selecting Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College. The third-ranked student opted for Kozhikode Medical College. Students with higher ranks have also applied for DM Pediatric Nephrology, which is being started for the first time in the country at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.

Minister Veena George adulated the achievement of the capital city’s medical college and said the rising demand was a sign of the excellence of medical colleges in Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram Medical College had received permission for two seats in DM Pediatric Nephrology and two seats in DM Pulmonary Medicine. The minister also clarified the government's ongoing efforts to obtain PG seats for more categories.
