KOTTAYAM: The Malayali nurse who was undergoing treatment after falling into a manhole in Salalah, Oman, has died. Lakshmi Vijayakumar (34), wife of Dinuraj (Operations Head, Trident Limited, Punjab), a native of Pampady, is the one who had the tragic death.

Lakshmi fell into the manhole while going to dispose of garbage from her residence in Mazyouna in the Dhofar Governorate of Salalah on the 13th. She was admitted to the hospital in Mazyouna but was shifted to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital after her health deteriorated. She died on Sunday afternoon. Lakshmi had joined the Ministry of Health in Mazyouna as a nurse ten months ago. Upon learning of the news, Lakshmi's husband Dinuraj, brother Anoop, Dinuraj's sister Divya and her husband Rakesh reached Oman. The steps to bring the body back home have been initiated. Daughter: Nila. Lakshmi is the daughter of Vijayakumar and Omana, natives of Pampady.
