WAYANAD: The girl, who went missing after her mother was stabbed to death in Thirunelly’s Appapara by her live-in partner, was found with the accused. The accused identified as Dileesh has been arrested. The police found the woman's missing daughter along with him. The dead is Praveena (34) of Edayoorkunnu. After the murder, the accused kidnapped Praveena's nine-year-old daughter. He fled to a nearby plantation. The police caught him this morning while he was hiding here with the child. Police said the child does not have any health issues.

Dileesh and Praveena were living together. He attacked her at 7.30 pm last night. Praveena has two daughters from her first marriage. The ear of her 14-year-old daughter was seriously injured in the attack. It is reported that she sustained stab injuries on her neck and ear. The police thought that the nine-year-old child might have fled from the area out of fear.

The reason for the murder is not yet clear. The woman was first married to Sudheesh. She had been living with Dileesh after estranged from Sudheesh. Police said Praveena's recent breakup with Dileesh may have led to the murder. The girl injured is presently undergoing treatment at the Taluk Hospital in Mananthavady. The murder was committed in the house where Praveena was staying on rent.
