Actress Vincy Aloshious, known for her standout performances in Malayalam films like Bheemante Vazhi, Vikruthi, and Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, has recently opened up about the surprising inspiration behind her stage name change to 'Win C'. The Kerala State Award-winning actress, who earned the Best Actress title for her role in Rekha, had previously stated that a message from megastar Mammootty influenced her decision. However, in a recent interview, she revealed that the message may not have come from the actor at all.

According to Win C, someone she knew shared a phone number claiming it belonged to Mammootty. After failing to reach the person via call, she sent a text message instead. The reply she received addressed her as "Win C," a name she found appealing and subsequently adopted as her own. Believing it was Mammootty who responded, the actress felt honoured and saw it as a sign to reinvent herself.

However, during a later meeting with Mammootty at the Filmfare Awards, she discovered the truth. When she mentioned the message, Mammootty denied any knowledge of it, saying, “If you want my number, ask George. He’ll give it to you.” This exchange made it clear to Win C that she had been messaging someone else all along. “To this day, I don’t know who actually replied to me,” she admitted.

Meanwhile, Win C’s new film Soothravakyam is gearing up for release. Directed by Eugien Jos Chirammel, the film features actor Shine Tom Chacko in a lead role. The film is scheduled for release on May 30. A family comedy, it is produced by Sreekanth Kandragula under the banner of Cinemabandi Productions, a well-known Telugu production house. Actor Deepak Parambol also plays a key role in the film. The story is by Rejin S. Babu, and the screenplay is written by the director Eugien himself.
