AMRITSAR: One died and several were injured in a bomb blast reported in Amritsar, Punjab on Tuesday morning. The blast was reported at 9.30 am today in the Naushera area under the Kambo police station limits of Amritsar Rural district.
The authorities suspect that a terrorist associated with the Khalistani outfit Babbar Khalsa International was killed in the attack. The police rushed this seriously injured man to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Four people were also injured in the blast. Police believe that the blast took place when the gang came to retrieve the explosives buried underground.
Panic spread following the loud noise as people started reaching the location in droves. Some informed the police about the incident. Forensic experts have collected samples of the explosives. Police have started an investigation into the incident. Authorities found a drone and three packets of heroin during a search operation on the Punjab border on Monday.
