NILAMBUR: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan said that the UDF is moving forward with all election preparations firmly in place. Responding to CPM state secretary MV Govindan's claim that there are serious issues within the UDF, Satheesan asserted that there is absolutely no trouble within the front.
"No one should assume otherwise. The candidate was selected unanimously, without a single dissenting voice. Every constituent party leader gave their full consent, and the Congress leaders made the decision with complete unity. With that, the UDF has officially entered the election battle," Satheesan said.
He added that the UDF is fully prepared in Nilambur and could begin campaign operations within 24 hours of the election being announced. “Nilambur has traditionally been a UDF stronghold. It was lost for nine years due to specific reasons. Just as we achieved overwhelming majorities in other by-elections, we expect the same result in Nilambur," Satheesan said.
Regarding P.V. Anvar, Satheesan stated that it is up to him to decide his stance in the by-election and whether or not to cooperate with UDF’s campaign efforts. “If he chooses to cooperate, we will move forward together. Once he makes his decision, the UDF will respond accordingly,” he added.
Satheesan also noted that the UDF has taken a clear lead after announcing its candidate and that out of approximately 10,000 newly added voters in the constituency, nearly 8,000 are aligned with the UDF.
