THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: According to the remand report of the Pettah police, in addition to the IB officer who committed suicide, Sukanth Suresh sexually exploited two other women. Sukanth, who was arrested and produced before the Thiruvananthapuram Add. Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, was remanded for 14 days. The police will file an application to take him into custody within two days.
Sukanth sexually exploited his colleague, an immigration assistant, and a girl he met while training for the IAS exam. He also exploited the girl financially. The remand report says that he had relationships with several girls at the same time and exploited them financially. He continued his relationship with the IB officer by hiding his relationship with the immigration assistant.
The IB officer and Sukanth fell in love when they were in Jodhpur, Rajasthan during their training. Before returning from training, she was raped in Udaipur, Rajasthan. She was sexually exploited in the accused's apartment in Ernakulam, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. When the IB officer became pregnant, she was forced to have an abortion.
He threatened her to withdraw from the marriage. He also encouraged her to commit suicide. In the Telegram chat with her, Sukanth says several times, 'You go and die, tell me you are going to kill yourself. There is evidence that the officer's six-month salary was transferred to Sukanth's account. Sections 69, 316(3), 318(4), and 108 of the BNS, which carry a sentence of more than 10 years, were charged.
Uncle second accused
Uncle Mohanan (68), who helped Sukant go into hiding and arranged a vehicle, has been made the second accused. It was Mohanan who provided financial assistance to go into hiding and travelled with Sukanth. He has obtained anticipatory bail from the High Court. The Brezza car used to go into hiding has been seized.
Relatives lash out
To identify the accused, the police showed him to the IB officer's father through a video call. Yesterday, the officer's uncle and other relatives reached the Pettah station and identified the accused. They lashed out at the accused.
