KOCHI: A 13-year-old student from Kadavanthra has been reported missing after he failed to return home from school. The Elamakkara police have registered a case based on a complaint from the boy's father.

Muhammad Shifan, a Class 8 student, had gone to a public school in Edappally on Tuesday morning to appear for his Save Exam. His father had dropped him off at the school on a scooter. However, when the boy did not return home, the family contacted the school authorities.

A review of the school’s CCTV footage revealed that Shifan had left the premises at around 9:25 a.m. Later, he was also seen in surveillance footage from a nearby mall in Edappally. Police and family members have since launched a search operation that continued through the night.
