WAYANAD: A student died tragically after a jeep rammed into her in Kambalakkad on Saturday. Dilshana (19), a native of Puthenthodukayil, Kambalakkad, was standing on the aisle of the road to buy milk from a shop when the jeep rammed into her.

The accident occurred near the cinema at around 7:30 this morning. Dilshana is a second-year undergraduate student at St. Mary's College, Bathery. The jeep, which was moving from Kalpetta to Mananthavady at a very high speed, knocked off the student.

After hitting the girl, the jeep crashed into a nearby pile of garbage. The accident occurred just below Dilshana's house where the shop was situated. Dilshana was seriously injured in the accident and was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kalpetta, but her life could not be saved. It is suspected that the driver of the jeep fell asleep while at the wheels.
