THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man who sent a fake bomb message at the Thampanoor KSRTC bus stand, has been arrested. The Thampanoor police arrested the person identified as Harilal. The police said that he is being grilled. The reason for sending the fake message is not clear. The police suspect that he is the same person who sent the fake message that a bomb has been planted in Kochi Metro.
A fake bomb threat was made against the Vanchiyoor District Court in Thiruvananthapuram the other day. The fake threat was sent in the district court's mail. The content of the message was that a bomb had been planted in the court and that it would explode at 2 pm.
A search was then carried out with the help of the Vanchiyoor police, bomb and dog squads. However, nothing suspicious was found. This is the third time in a month that a threat has been made against the court. The premises were searched by bringing in police dogs that are expertly trained to detect bombs. Two units of the fire brigade were also prepared to deal with emergencies. The luggage and vehicles of those who came here were also checked.
The police said that this was part of a series of fake bomb threats against various government offices and hotels in the state. The cybercrime police had registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
