MALAPPURAM: M Swaraj, the LDF candidate in Nilambur, said the UDF has donated a candidate for the BJP to contest in Nilambur. M Swaraj said the candidate himself said that he is a member of the state committee of the UDF ally. Advocate Mohan George is contesting as the BJP candidate in the Nilambur by-election. The BJP central leadership announced the candidate. Mohan George is presently a member of the state committee of the Kerala Congress Joseph faction.
The UDF and the BJP should explain to the people what is behind the donation. The people of Nilambur have common sense. Their democratic enlightenment should not be underestimated. Therefore, let them explain before the people, Swaraj said. He was talking to the media after the BJP announced their candidate.
Advocate Mohan George, who has been a Kerala Congress activist for four decades, belongs to Chungathara in Nilambur. Mohan George has informed that he will take BJP membership in the afternoon. He is a lawyer in the Nilambur court. Mohan George told media that there will be a strong contest in Nilambur. He also said that he will work for the people of the hilly migrant area. Meanwhile, UDF candidate in Nilambur Aryadan Shoukath filed his nomination papers the other day. Shoukath had promised to wrest back Nilambur from the LDF.
