THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The rains that fell in Kerala last week have eased slightly for the past two days. However, this is temporary and the monsoon will strengthen in the state by next week, the Meteorological Department has warned. The monsoon will become active from June 10 and 11. However, there is no possibility of extremely heavy rain like last week.

IMD also says that there is no possibility of very heavy rain or heavy rain. Normal rain will be received. There is a possibility of rain in North Kerala for two days (June 3 and 4). However, there is no possibility of very heavy rain or heavy rain. Although the clouds will darken in Central and South Kerala, there is a low possibility of rain. IMD also assesses that the amount of rain in Kerala will decrease considerably from June 5 to 9.

Meanwhile, in view of the increasing rainfall in Kerala, the Central Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in various districts for three days from today. The possibility of heavy rainfall has been predicted. Heavy rainfall is defined as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours.
