NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of Gandhiji's visit to Sivagiri and his meeting with Sree Narayana Gurudeva, in Delhi in the last week of this month. Gandhiji visited the Sivagiri Ashram on March 12, 1925. A year-long programme will be organised to celebrate the meeting between Gandhiji and Gurudeva.

The programme will be organised under the auspices of Sivagiri Mutt in collaboration with Gurudeva organizations like SNDP Yogam Delhi Union, Delhi Sree Narayana Kendra, Noida Gurudharma Pracharana Sabha, Delhi Sachidananda Swami Foundation and other socio-cultural organizations like All India Malayali Association, Delhi NSS Union, Delhi Malayali Association, Delhi Marar Samajam, Delhi KPMS and Vishwakarma Samajam.

Sree Narayana Dharma Sangh Trust President Swami Sachidananda said that the date will be announced as soon as the Prime Minister's Office notifies it. Books in English and Hindi based on the Gandhi-Gurudeva meeting will be released at the event. Union ministers, state ministers, sannyasins of Sivagiri, Kerala MPs and others will participate.
A 101-member organizing committee was formed in a meeting held at Kerala House in Delhi under the chairmanship of Swami Sachidananda.
