KANNUR: The body of one of the two youths who went missing while bathing in Meenkunnu beach has been found. The body of P K Ganesan Nambiar (28) of Pattanoor Kodolipram was found near the shore of Neerkadava in Azhikode. V Prineesh (27) of Vellora House in Varam Valiannoor could not be found.

The youths went missing in the Kallakadappuram area around 4 pm yesterday. They were swimming in the sea after taking a photo from the rockside. A couple who had reached the beach saw the youths being swept away. They informed the locals. By the time they reached, the youths had gone far away that they could not be rescued by swimming. Diving experts from the Azheekal Coastal Police also conducted a search but they could not be found.

They were identified based on the Aadhaar card found from their clothes kept in the rock. The youths reached the Kallakadappuram area via the cliff above Meenkunnu beach, which is close to the shore. The coastal residents said that Kallakadappuram is a very dangerous beach.
