THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V. Sivankutty stated that the Sangh Parivar's moves against rapper Vedan will not succeed in Kerala, a state that values social justice and progressive values.
"Vedan is being targeted over a song he sang four years ago, with cyber attacks against him on social media based on his name and the song's content," the minister said.
"This is the land where Sree Narayana Guru, Chattampi Swamikal, and Mahatma Ayyankali lived and fought for social justice. Kerala will not tolerate caste-based insults or persecution. Progressive Kerala will always stand for the freedom of expression of artists. Emerging artists like Vedan, who get opportunities on international platforms, should not be denied such chances," he said.
