KOZHIKODE: Nine people were arrested in a raid after police busted a sex racket in Malaparamba, Kozhikode on Friday. Six of the arrested were women while two men, doubted to be clients, were taken into custody.

The sex racket was run from a rented apartment on Iyyappadi Road in Malaparamba. The police said that the illicit business has been going on for a long.

The neighbours and others never doubted foul play in the apartment as it was located in a corner totally unnoticeable. However, the visitors knocking on the doors at odd hours didn't escape the eyes of a few neighbours who alerted the police.

The owner of the apartment says that the building was rented to a physiotherapist for the Bahrain Football Club and that he was unaware of a prostitution ring operating there. As the rent was received on time, the owner barely intruded on their matters.
