DEHRADUN: Helicopter lands in the middle of the road due to technical fault. The helicopter with five passengers made an emergency landing in Guptkashi in Uttarakhand. The incident took place at around 12 noon on Saturday. The helicopter was heading to Kedarnath Dham. The technical fault was discovered shortly after takeoff. This necessitated an emergency landing.
A major accident was averted due to the timely intervention of the pilot. An emergency hard landing was made in the middle of the road due to a technical fault. Pilot Captain R.P.S. Sodhi reported that there was a fault in the collective control and he made a controlled landing on the road just below the helipad.
District Tourism Development Officer and Heli Service Nodal Officer Rahul Choubey said that the helicopter of Crestal Aviation Private Limited developed a technical fault and the pilot, who realized the fault in time, made an emergency landing on a nearby empty road. The tail of the helicopter hit a vehicle parked on the roadside, causing damage.
