SHIMLA: Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to the hospital. She has been admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is reported that Sonia was rushed to the hospital after her health condition deteriorated. According to national media reports, Sonia was admitted to the hospital after she complained of physical discomfort due to high blood pressure.

Naresh Chauhan, media advisor to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, said that Sonia Gandhi was brought for examination after she complained of minor discomfort. He said that after the examination by the doctors, her health condition was declared satisfactory. Chauhan said that further test results are awaited.

It is reported that 78-year-old Sonia Gandhi had come to Himachal along with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi for some personal needs. There are also reports that she was discharged from the hospital after undergoing some tests. Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi in February. She was admitted to the hospital due to some stomach problems.
