MALAPPURAM: Ananthu, who was electrocuted by an electric wire set to trap wild boars in Vazhikkadavu, was given a tearful adieu. He was a student of tenth class. He was laid to rest at the crematorium. Hundreds of mourners poured to bid a tearful adieu to Ananthu. The body was first kept in the school to pay homage and then was brought to his house in Vazhikkadavu.

Ananthu had gone to play football with his friends on Saturday. While returning home at around 6 pm after the game, he went fishing with his friends in the stream in Vellakatta. The children were electrocuted after coming in contact with the electric wire set to trap wild boars. Yadhu and Shanu, who were injured along with Ananthu, are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The authorities said that they are out of danger.


Ananthu's post-mortem report has been released. The initial post-mortem report said that he died of shock. There are burn marks on his stomach after electrocuted. It is reported that the shock was caused by a direct hit on a live wire. Ananthu fell down immediately after receiving the shock. Vineesh of Vazhikkadavu, has been arrested in the incident. Vineesh told police that he had set up the electric trap with the intention of selling the meat of wild boar. A case of culpable homicide has been registered against him.
