THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body that washed up on the shores of Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu is suspected to be that of Stellas (45), a fisherman from Pulluvila who went missing after his boat capsized in Vizhinjam.
The body washed up on Tuesday morning. Vizhinjam Coastal Police SHO VS Vipin said that the relatives will reach Ramanathapuram on Wednesday. The Coastal Police said that the watch and the clothes worn by the body are the reason to suspect that the body is that of Stellas. Tamil Nadu Police has registered a case.
The body will be released after the postmortem if the relatives identify it. On May 30, Antony Thadayus (52), a native of Pulluvila Pazhayathura, died while returning from fishing when the boat capsized due to heavy rain and rough seas. Stellas went missing in the sea. Pushpadasan, a native of Pulluvila Kochupally, and Muthappan (48), a native of Vizhinjam, had swam to the shore. Raj (40), a native of Tamil Nadu, was brought to shore by other boatmen.
