Actor Mohanlal, who is currently in Sri Lanka for filming the untitled Mahesh Narayan movie, visited the parliament on Thursday. The deputy speaker of the house made all other members aware of the presence of the Malayalam superstar, who was observing the proceedings from the public gallery.
“On behalf of the Speaker of the parliament of Sri Lanka, I wish to welcome veteran Indian filmmaker and film actor, Padma Shri, Padmabhushan Mohanlal Vishwanthan, to the Speaker’s gallery of the parliament of Sri Lanka,” said Deputy Speaker Dr Risvi Salih.

Upon the announcement, the actor stood up and greeted the members with a namaskar.
Mohanlal, who is on a 10-day visit to the country, described Sri Lanka as a cinema-friendly location. Last day, the Sri Lankan tourism page also put a Facebook post greeting the actor on his visit to the island nation.
