THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been taken regarding the film conclave, which was announced as part of the Kerala government's film policy formulation. The Kerala Film Policy Conclave will be held on August 2 and 3 at the Shankara Narayanan Thampi Hall in the Assembly Complex. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the conclave. Minister Saji Cherian will preside over it.
The film conclave became a lively discussion after some parts of the Hema Committee report were released. The conclave, which was decided by the Cultural Department to be held in Kochi on November 23, was initially postponed in the name of the Goa International Film Festival.
Shaji N. Karun was appointed as the chairman of the committee in July 2023, with the direction to prepare the film policy proposals within two months after considering the Hema Committee's recommendations. Shaji N. Karun had also submitted the draft of the film policy.
Representatives from 17 states will attend
Representatives from the 17 states that have formulated a film policy, representatives from the National Film Development Corporation, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Union Ministry of Culture and Tourism, people from the international and Indian film industry, experts in the field of labor law, etc. will participate. The government aims to publish the draft of the film policy within a month.
