KANNUR: It is learnt that two absconding accused in the suicide following the moral policing trial of Pinarayi Kayalode Parambayi native Raseena (40) have gone abroad. The fourth accused in the case, Padiyil Suneer (30), and the fifth accused, Ponnyathu Zakaria (30), have gone abroad.

Raseena was found hanging inside her house on the 17th. The Pinarayi police registered a case against five SDPI activists based on the statement of Raseena's friend, P. Rahees, a native of Mayyil Kolachery Palliparamba, and following the woman's suicide note. The court had remanded Parambai native VC Mubasheer (28), KA Faisal (34), and VK Rafnas (24), who were arrested in the case.

The police concluded that Suneer and Zakaria might have left the country when the investigation began. It has been decided to intensify the investigation by issuing a lookout notice for them. On the evening of June 15, a group of people questioned Raseena while she was standing next to her car on the road talking to her friend Rahees. Then, Rahees was taken to a nearby field and interrogated for several hours. By nightfall, the relatives of both were summoned to the SDPI office and Rahees was released. Raseena hanged herself at home following this. The police had recovered the mobile phone and tablet that the accused had snatched from Rahees' hands.
