KOCHI: Three people from Irinjalakuda suffered from vomiting and sickness after consuming shawarma and shawai from Kochi’s popular restaurant. The hotel 'Real Arabia' in Ravipuram, Kochi, was closed immediately by health authorities following the complaint. The victims suffered from diarrhoea and abdominal cramps, according to the report.
The condition of a young woman who fell sick after having food from the restaurant is said to have worsened. She was moved to a hospital in Ernakulam from her hometown, Angamaly. The family filed a complaint with the Ernakulam Food Safety Department. One of the victims is undergoing treatment in Thrissur, while another is recovering at home.
The Food Safety Commissioner said that the hotel can reopen soon after a full inspection by the corporation. It is doubtful that the uncooked meat used in the dish might have caused food poisoning.
