FLORIDA: The Axiom 4 spacecraft carrying Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and others reached the International Space Station. The spacecraft docked with the station at 4 pm today. The spacecraft's door was attached to the Harmony dock at the space station. The hard capture, which will unify the pressure and other aspects of both spacecraft, needs to be completed. After that, the astronauts of the Dragon capsule will enter the station.

SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Crew Dragon spacecraft, which includes a four-member crew, including Shubhanshu, was launched at 12.01 pm Indian time on Wednesday. The launch was done from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, USA. Shubhanshu was the group lead of the spacecraft until it reached the International Space Station.

Apart from being the first Indian to travel to space after Rakesh Sharma, Shubhanshu will also achieve the historic mission of becoming the first Indian to reach the International Space Station today. The journey, scheduled for May 29, was postponed seven times due to technical reasons.

Subhanshu and his team will conduct various experiments at the space station for 14 days. The mission is led by Peggy Whitson, a former NASA astronaut and director of human space missions at Axiom Space. The other astronauts accompanying the historic journey are Slawoz Wisniewski from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary. India is spending Rs 550 crore on Subhanshu's space odyssey.
