With the 2007 movie ‘Chotta Mumbai’ creating waves at the box office upon its re-release, producers of erstwhile Mohanlal movies have entered the fray, convinced of minting profits with re-releases. It is reported that three superhit movies starring Mohanlal may get back to the big screens in the coming months.

1994 movie Thenmavin Kombath, 2008 released Twenty:20, and Mohanlal’s all-time hit Ravanaprabhu are on the queue waiting to hit the big screens. The producers hope to repeat the frenzy created by ‘Chotta Mumbai’ upon its re-release and are optimistic of success.

In the past two years, eight films have been re-released in Malayalam. Only Devadoothan, Manichitrathazhu, Sphadikam and Chhota Mumbai managed to make significant gains. All these films have collected more than three crores.
