KOCHI: In a scuffle that broke out inside a popular bar in Kochi, a woman stabbed a wine glass into a youngster, whom she alleged had misbehaved with her. Police took the Udayamperoor native woman into custody and registered a case imposing murder charges. Meanwhile, a case has also been registered against the Thodupuzha native youngster, imposing sexual offence charges. An investigation is also underway into the DJ party held at the Edassery Mansion bar.

The incident took place at 10:30 pm on Saturday in the millennial bar inside the Mansion Hotel. As per the reports, Thodupuzha native Basheer tried to grab the woman and made indecent gestures twice. The woman warned him not to approach her again, but Basheer cared less and grabbed her for a third time. Agitated over the repeated offence, the woman who was sipping wine used the same glass to smash on Basheer’s face. In no time, blood started oozing out from his ears. The DJ party soon came to an abrupt halt.

A big posse of police reached the hotel following the incident. Despite the two admitting to having no complaint, the police moved ahead with a case. Earlier, too, there were feuds reported from the same bar. At one time, there was a case over the bouncers in the bar misbehaving and making lewd approaches to women. A serious probe is underway into the latest incident.
