ALAPPUZHA: More information has emerged in the incident of a man strangling his daughter to death in Mararikulam. The dead is 28-year-old Angel Jasmine. The accused, Francis alias Jismon, is in the custody of the Mannancherry police. It is reported that an argument related to Angel's night outing resulted in the murder.

Police said there have been constant arguments in the house before this too over her regular night outings alone. Some of the locals had even told Francis about it. Francis had scolded Angel who had gone out on Tuesday night. This led to a verbal argument and a fight. Amidst the argument, Francis strangled her and then he tightened her neck with a towel. Francis' father Xavier, mother Susy and wife Sindhu were at home at the time of the incident.

After she was confirmed dead, the family sat inside the house without informing anyone until morning. The neighbors knew about her demise only on Wednesday morning at 6 am. The family told neighbors that she is not responding to them. She was later taken to the hospital. The doctor who noticed the mark on her neck grew suspicious and informed the police. A police team came last night and locked the house. A team led by Mannancherry Police Inspector Tolson P Joseph questioned the family separately. Francis' wife Sindhu is likely to be arraigned in the case.
