VELLARADA: A young man who collapsed after receiving an injection to reduce fever died while undergoing treatment. Panachamoodu native Arun Krishna (42) died at a private medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.
Arun, who had a high fever, reached the hospital in Panachamoodu on his own, riding a bike on Saturday evening. He was given an injection as per the doctor's instructions. Immediately after receiving the shot, Arun collapsed on the floor. The hospital authorities took him to a private medical college hospital in an ambulance and informed his family. Arun, an expatriate, had returned home four days ago on a seven-day leave as his son was unwell.
The Vellarada police registered a case against the private hospital following a complaint filed by relatives, who alleged medical negligence. Since the hospital is in Tamil Nadu, the Arumana police have also been informed.
The police said that the cause of death will be clear only when the internal organ reports come. Arun’s wife, Asha, works in the same private hospital where the incident occurred. Children: Ashwin Krishna, Akash Krishna. The body will be cremated at 11 am today in the house compound.
