THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The minutes of the parallel meeting of the Kerala University, which was held under the authority of the Syndicate, were signed by Syndicate member PM Radhamani instead of the VC and were approved by Senior Joint Registrar P Harikumar, who was in charge of the Registrar.

The minutes were not handed over by the concerned parties despite repeated requests from Ciza Thomas, who is in charge of the VC. That is why these minutes were seized from the section. The legal advice to the Governor is that the parallel meeting held after the VC was dismissed is completely illegal.

Dr. Ciza Thomas resigned as Kerala VC yesterday. Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal will return from Russia today. Dr. Anilkumar reached the office yesterday and remained there till evening. Planning Director Dr. Mini Kappan, to whom the VC handed over the charge of the Registrar, has not been able to take charge. Although the VC issued an order giving Mini the charge, the administrative order has not been issued, so Mini has not been given the user ID and password of the Registrar. The employees of the administrative section are on leave.

Minutes say VC walked out

Harikumar signed the minutes without the knowledge or recommendation of the VC. Although the syndicate meeting was dissolved by the VC, the minutes of the parallel meeting say that she walked out. Harikumar was tasked with handing over the responsibility to Dr Anilkumar.

VC stops file from being sent to Anil Kumar

The VC stopped Dr KS Anil Kumar from checking the files when he reached the registrar's office. The VC had earlier cancelled Anil Kumar's user ID and password, but when he got them back, he started looking at the files. The academic department had sent the file for issuing the degree recognition certificate to a student who graduated from Punjab University to Dr Anil Kumar. The VC, who recalled this, instructed the joint registrars to bypass Anil Kumar and send the files directly to her. It was the VC who approved the student's certificate.
