THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Registrar Dr. K.S. Anilkumar entered his office on Thursday, ignoring the Vice Chancellor's instructions, adding more drama in the Kerala university kerfuffle. The security officer allowed the registrar to enter the office, despite receiving orders from VC Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal not to do so.

Anilkumar, who arrived at the university at 10 am on Thursday, was received by the syndicate members and the leaders of the employees' left organisation. The security officer, DySP, informed Dr. Anilkumar about the VC’s order, but he did not comply. Later, the VC instructed the Computer Centre Director not to provide digital files to Dr. Anilkumar. However, the syndicate members and Dr. Anil Kumar forcibly took back the login to the digital files.

The VC informed the joint registrars that not a single file sent through Anilkumar would be accepted. An instruction has been passed to send the files directly to VC and not through Anilkumar. The VC ordered the Director of the Computer Centre to cancel the login of the digital file given to Dr. Anilkumar. This has led to an administrative standstill in the university.

In a report submitted to the VC and Joint Registrar, the University Security Officer said that Anil Kumar, who is under suspension, trespassed into the Registrar's office. The employees' organisation leaders prohibited the Planning Director Mini Kappan, who was given the charge of the Registrar by the VC, from providing the file transfer ID.

Currently, two people continue to hold the post of Registrar in the university. VC Dr Mohanan Kunnummal was not present at the university on Thursday. The Governor has sought a report on the incidents at the university.
