KOCHI: The government has come to the aid of ADGP M R Ajith Kumar, who traveled in a tractor of Kerala Police from Pampa to Sannidhanam and back, in Sabarimala. The Pampa police have registered a case against the tractor driver.


The case was registered on the grounds that the driver drove recklessly and violated the high court order by carrying a person. The report of it has been submitted to the high court. The court severely criticized Ajith Kumar in the incident. The court termed the incident as unfortunate and asked that he could have gone in an ambulance if he was sick. The court's criticism was based on the report of the Sabarimala Special Commissioner.


The ADGP boarded the tractor on July 12 and 13. The high court devaswom bench had ordered in 2021 that strong action should be taken against those who travel in tractors used for transporting goods to Sannidhanam. The report of the Sabarimala Special Commissioner mentioned that the ADGP had violated this. The ADGP boarded the tractor from the Chelikuzhy side on July 12 at 6 pm. He got off when reached the shoe shop area near Sannidhanam. His personal security officer (PSO) was also with him. He boarded the tractor from the shoe shop area, reached Pampa and got off at the Chelikkuzhi side on July 13 at 1 pm, the report said.
