KOCHI: Actor Nivin Pauly came forward responding to the financial fraud case against him. He clarified in a post on social media that the dispute has been under court directed arbitration since June 28, with a gag order in place to ensure confidentiality.


Nivin Pauly clarified that despite this, a new case has been registered without respecting the court's directions and by concealing the ongoing arbitration proceedings and manipulating facts. He noted that they will pursue appropriate legal action. Truth will prevail.


Shamnas of Thalayolaparambu had filed a complaint against Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine for financial fraud of Rs 1 crore 90 lakh.


The Kottayam Thalayolaparamba police registered a case against the actor and director. It is reported that a financial dispute related to the production of the film ended in the case.


Shamnas, the complainant was one of the producers of the Nivin Pauly film 'Mahaveeryar'. Shamnas claimed that he has to get more than Rs 90 lakh in connection with the production of the film.


In addition, Rs 1 crore 90 lakh was given after promising to make him a partner in Nivin Pauly's new film Action Hero Biju 2. However, there were differences of opinion between them. The complaint said the film's distribution rights were given to another company and that is how he lost Rs 1 crore 90 lakh.


He approached the Vaikom court with the complaint. The Thalayolaparambu police registered the case on the court's instructions. The case has arraigned Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine as the first and second accused. The charges include breach of trust. Neither Nivin Pauly nor Abrid Shine have responded to the matter.
