THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 42 vacancies were reported to the PSC in one day in a special drive conducted by the Local Self-Government Department. 433 more entry cadre vacancies will be reported within a week. Minister MB Rajesh informed that the vacancies were reported due to the general transfers and promotions completed this week, and the intervention was for the candidates in the rank list that was to end on Friday.

The special drive was conducted under the leadership of the joint directors. So far this year, the LSG department has reported 1068 vacancies to the PSC. The remaining ones are being reported now. The minister also explained that 5256 people have been appointed to various posts through the PSC so far during the tenure of this government.

Out of 6747 people who applied for state-level general transfers, 4898 were transferred. 1065 employees were promoted. The process was completed completely through online software, the minister said.
