THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The capital city is all set to bid adieu to senior CPM leader V S Achuthanandan, who passed away on Monday. A sea of people is flocking to Thiruvananthapuram for a last glimpse of their beloved leader. After the public homage at the Durbar Hall in the Secretariat, the body is being taken to Alappuzha at 2:30 pm. Thousands of people are waiting on both sides of the road to pay their last respects to their beloved comrade.

The cortege will pass through 27 centers in Thiruvananthapuram. The centers are Palayam, PMG, Plamood, Pattom, Kesavadasapuram, Ulloor, Pongumood, Sreekaryam, Kaniyapuram, Pallipuram, Mangalapuram, Attingal Bus Stand, Kacherinada, Alamkode, Kaduvayil, Kallambalam, Navaikulam, 28th Mile and Kadampattukonam. Arrangements have been made for public homage in various centres in Kollam. There will be a public homage at Velikkakom House in Alappuzha in the evening.

There will be a public homage at the CPM Alappuzha district committee office from 9 am tomorrow. A public homage will also be there at the Alappuzha Town Hall tomorrow afternoon. The body will be laid to rest at Valiya Chudukad in Alappuzha tomorrow evening.
