NEW DELHI: Undetectable by radars, these drones can fly at speeds of up to 300 kmph and carry bombs to destroy enemy targets. The drones with all these features were built from a hostel room in the Hyderabad campus of Pilani Birla Institute. That too by two engineering students who are 20 years old. These drones, which are part of the Indian Army, will now fly with bombs to enemy targets on the battlefield.

The drone was born from experiments conducted in their hostel room by Jayant Khatri, a mechanical engineering student from Ajmer, Rajasthan, and Shaurya Chaudhary, an electrical engineering student from Kolkata. They started manufacturing drones commercially through a start-up called Apollyon Dynamics.

Five times faster

The startup, which has expanded to include six more engineering students, is now trying to develop next-generation vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drones.
