ALAPPUZHA: The funeral procession carrying the body of former chief minister V S Achuthanandan has reached Velikkakam House, delaying from its official schedule.
Thousands are flocking to catch a last glimpse of the leader. The procession after passing through Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam reached his house. Braving heavy rain, people are thronging his house. The public homage at his house enters the final stages.

A journey of around 150 kms, which usually takes over four hours, was delayed due to the heavy turnout of ordinary people and his fans who thronged waysides to catch a final glimpse of him. As soon as the body arrived at his house, cries of Kanne Karale VS, was heard.

The police and the red volunteers are finding it hard to control the crowd. VS will be laid to rest in the mud where K C George and Gowri Amma were buried.
