ALAPPUZHA: After the public homage at Velikkakam House, the body of former chief minister V S Achuthanandan has been taken to Alappuzha district committee office. The body will be kept here for public homage and will later be taken to the Beach Recreation Ground. From here, the body will be taken to Valiya Chudukkad for cremation.

The funeral procession reached his house at Paravoor in Alappuzha at 12.20 pm. Thousands were there to pay homage to the leader. The leaders present there shouted slogans.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others ministers are present in the district committee office.
