ALAPPUZHA: A Class 8 student committed suicide after his parents refused to give him a mobile phone. The incident took place at Manathara in the 8th ward of Edathua Thalavady Grama Panchayat. The boy, identified as Adithyan, was the son of Mohanlal and Anitha. He was found hanging near Vedavyasa School.

According to reports, Adithyan had asked his mother for the phone to play games, but when she refused, he left the house in anger. He was later found hanging during the subsequent search.
