ATTINGAL: In a tragic incident, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by an ambulance. The deceased has been identified as Vijayan (57), a native of Attingal. The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Moonnumukku on the national highway.

The ambulance, which was carrying a patient from Kollam to Thiruvananthapuram, was involved in the accident. Attingal police have initiated proceedings in connection with the incident.

Vijayan was crossing the road when the ambulance hit him. The ambulance was travelling from Kollam District Hospital to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Both the ambulance and its driver are in the custody of the Attingal police. The patient was transferred to another ambulance and taken to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
